Columbia, Tenn. — September 15th, 2026 — Boys & Girls Club of South-Central Tennessee has received $20,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help nourish children and families  during the summer months. The Summers Without Hunger grant supports community feeding partners by helping increase access to nutritious food, nutritional education and  resources for children and families experiencing food insecurity.

Our measurable goals are to ensure every child attending our summer program has access to nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and healthy snacks each day. We aim to increase the number of children served through our meal program while reducing barriers to consistent access to healthy food. We also measure participation in nutrition education activities to  help children build healthy eating habits that last beyond the program.

Boys & Girls Clubs of South-Central Tennessee has a long history of serving local youth and families. What started as a commitment to giving kids a safe place to belong has grown through the continued support of our community. Local businesses, donors, volunteers, and community partners have helped us expand our reach and provide opportunities that make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across Food Lion’s 10-state footprint. Established in 2001, the Foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $25 million in grant funding to help nourish communities with fresh food.
