Boys & Girls Club Dedicates Columbia Teen Center in honor of Don & Eva James Crichton
On March 26, Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Tennessee supporters, staff, youth, and Board of Directors came together to name their Columbia Teen Center in honor of dedicated supporters Don & Eva James Crichton.
Don and Eva James Crichton have been long-time champions of this Club and its mission to give youth in our community the opportunity to reach their full potential. The Crichtons have sponsored several youth to attend the Boys & Girls Club and have been Jeremiah Milbank Society level supporters for many years.
They have brought in new resources, advocated for the Club, recruited new supporters, and volunteered countless hours of their time. Most recently, Don became a member of the Heritage Club.
Don joined the Board of Directors in 2016 and quickly became an instrumental force in bringing in new donors and funding so the Club could serve more kids. Don and Eva James have been particularly instrumental over the past eight years in helping the Club grow and secure additional resources to serve the needs of every school and community in the county.
They have consistently stepped up and increased their investment whenever the organization needed them most, without asking for any recognition for their generosity.
It is for all of these reasons that the Board decided to rename the Teen Center the “Don & Eva James Crichton Teen Center.”
“Don and Eva James Crichton are not the type to want their names on the front of a building, but for the rest of us, seeing their names will be a continual inspiration,” says BGCSCT Board Chair Gale Moore. “Eva and Don’s generosity and commitment to our children serves as a beacon to enliven us.”
