Columbia, TN (July 8th, 2025) – Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Tennessee is proud to announce the promotion of Carrika Washington to the newly created position of Director of Impact and Outcomes (DIO), effective July 5th, 2025.
In this new role, Washington will oversee the club-wide operations of all programs, bringing a strategic lens to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of youth development initiatives. She will lead efforts to track and improve measurable outcomes in the organization’s three priority areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship.
Washington’s journey with Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Tennessee began in 2016, when she joined the team as the Wayne Street Program Director. Her connection to the Club started even earlier, however, as a Club parent—her son Chase has been a member since kindergarten. Her passion for youth programming and pursuit of excellence has defined her leadership across several roles, including Unit Director of Wayne Street and Randolph Howell Clubhouses, and more recently the Director of Impact and Outcomes.
“Working with Carrika has truly been a blessing.” Said Monica Armstrong, Senior Area Coordinator at Wayne Street and Howell. “Her leadership and dedication to our organization continue to inspire me. The love and passion she pours into our club kids, families, and staff is nothing short of amazing. No one is more deserving of the role of Director of Impact and Outcomes. I’m so proud of her, and I know she’s going to absolutely thrive in this new position!”
Carrika has been instrumental in strengthening and expanding the Club’s SMART Girls program, leading it to receive the 2019 Program Excellence Award. She has also earned multiple certifications that deepen the Club’s program quality, including becoming a Tier 2 National Trainer, a Methods trainer, and a certified Mental Health First Aid trainer. Additionally, she is a certified External Assessor through the David P. Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality and the Nashville After Zone Alliance.
“For nearly a decade Carrika has been passionately dedicated to the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs and has a creative flare for programing that is truly unique.” Said Josh Campbell, Chief Operations Officer. “From signature events like SMART Girls Conference and unprecedented numbers at our flagship unit, Carrika always shows up for this community’s youth. We are excited to see what she does in this expanded roll.”
Reflecting on the new role, Carrika shared:
“I’m thrilled to continue my journey with this incredible organization. I believe in the power of what we do for the youth in our community. In this new role, I’m excited to lead programming organization-wide and witness the impact as our members grow and reach their full potential every day.”
As she steps into this next chapter, Carrika brings with her not only a wealth of experience and training, but also the heart and passion that has defined her career and positively impacted the lives of countless youth.
Carrika’s promotion opens the Wayne Street Unit Director position. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a cover letter and resume to jcampbell@bgcsctn.org.
