Devon Yurko

Giles County Executive Director

Devon Yurko joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Tennessee team as the Unit Director for the Pulaski Club, which reopened to Giles County youth under the leadership of Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Tennessee in 2017. Devon is originally from Lemont, Illinois, a small suburb south of the city of Chicago. In 2010, he moved to Kalamazoo, MI to attend college. Devon graduated in 2015 from Western Michigan University with a Bachelors of the Arts in Political Science. He joined the team at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kalamazoo in February of 2012. Devon began as a Youth Development Professional working directly with the youth of the great city, and was able to secure a plethora of positions with the organization including Program Coordinator of the Proud 2 Be Me program, summer camp counselor, and Assistant Camp Director. He finalized his time there as the Unit Director of the Club’s flagship unit, Lake Street.

In November of 2017, Devon relocated to Columbia and secured a position with Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Tennessee. He oversees the Pulaski Club, which has more than doubled its membership since reopening its doors – from 50 kids served in 2018, to 118 kids served in 2019. In January 2020, Devon was named the Giles County Executive Director.  In addition to overseeing the Pulaski Club and its staff members, Devon works with the Pulaski Advisory Council to support the Club’s efforts in Giles County. Devon has a strong passion for youth development, and believes that he has found his true calling in life working with Boys & Girls Clubs.
