We are excited to announce that we will be partnering with the Haslam Foundation to participate in the Tennessee Tutoring Corps program this summer! This program allows us to provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to our students, helping combat the learning loss we have seen due to COVID-19.
To further its efforts of supporting youth programs across the local community, Associates from Mars Petcare piloted their virtual program on responsible pet ownership with students from the Boys & Girls Club Teen Center. The program taught Club members about pet behaviors and how to interact safely with pets by recognizing their moods. Through the partnership, Mars Petcare will host additional sessions for Club members including financial literacy and career days.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Maury County has announced that it is changing the name of the organization to more accurately reflect its entire geographic service area of Maury and Giles Counties, and to position the Club for additional growth opportunities in the future. Boys & Girls Clubs of Maury County will begin doing business as Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Tennessee.
The Club recently unveiled its newly renovated Gamesroom within its Teen Center in Downtown Columbia. The updated space was sponsored by First Farmers and Merchants Bank and Farm Bureau Health Plans.

The COVID-19 Pandemic Child Care Payment Assistance program is designed to help support essential workers so they can stay on the job during the COVID-19 emergency. Through payment assistance and a network of temporary care locations, parents who work in specific occupations can access child care at no cost, during the COVID-19 pandemic state of emergency until December 31, 2020. Beginning Monday, April 20th, the Boys & Girls Club temporary site at Baker Elementary will begin serving the children of families that are serving the state in essential workforce positions.
